Aaron Abrams
Aaron Abrams is an award-winning Canadian actor who now has over 20 years of experience in film and television. Whilst his prize-winning roles have been in films such as Nose to Tail and Closet Monster, he is perhaps best known for his roles in TV series such as Brian Zeller in Hannibal, Matthew Weitz in Blindspot, and his current leading role of James in the CTV comedy series Children Ruin Everything. He is also a noted screenwriter, having won a Canadian Comedy Award for co-writing the 2007 comedy film Young People F**king. His most recent film role was a part in the 2020 rom-com The Lovebirds.
Although he now lives in Los Angeles, Abrams was born in Toronto in May 1978. He made his screen debut in 2003, appearing in a film called The In-Laws which starred Michael Douglas. As well as similar small roles, he also appeared in six episodes of a darkly comic Shakespeare-inspired series called Slings & Arrows. His first recurring role came voicing one of the leading characters in the adult animated series Producing Parker. However, Hannibal proved to be his TV breakthrough, as he appeared in 23 episodes alongside the likes of Laurence Fishburne and Gillian Anderson.
On the big screen, Abrams moved from background parts to supporting roles alongside the likes of Hilary Swank, Ethan Hawke, and Emma Watson. As his controversial film Young People F**kig also proved, he is a talented screenwriter capable of grabbing an audience’s attention. Like that movie, his 2018 film The Go-Getters was also nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award.
